Take care of Defense and our soldiers...stop supporting parasites and moochers

Take a look at this chart! Look at spending in 1990, then look over the last several years. Entitlement spending has gone up, while defense spending has gone down?! If we need to save money, why not take it from entitlements??

Graph with no numbers, scale or anything. And how can you have a graph projected into 2014 when we’re in the second month of 2014?
If by ‘entitlements funding’ the graph means ‘welfare in budget’, then in 2013, the US government spent $400 million on welfare, and $882 billion defence.
There are so many other variables and I don’t really think you can say “look at how accurate and non biased this graph is” with a clear conscience

You’re correct. I meant to tie some sources to this when I reblogged it. Mea culpa.
The 2014 is projected obviously on trends and forecasting. Entitlements are considered mandatory programs that are obligated to pay out like social security, medicare/medicaid, welfare, food stamps and a number of other services from multiple federal departments. Defense is considered discretionary spending and the budgets didn’t include the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, don’t forget defense spending also covers a lot more than tanks, bombs and guns, but also our troops at home and abroad. Don’t get me wrong, I think it needs some cleaning up, but not before domestic entitlements are fixed first.
The graph above is accurate, which is sad. Military spending protects us all and is trending downwards again, while entitlement spending benefits are supposed to benefit a few but is exploding upwards.

Need I remind everyone that CMS spent a record one trillion dollars in 2013.
